[The Villages, Florida] – March 15, 2024 – Lake Centre for Rehab (LCR), Florida’s most highly regarded providers of musculoskeletal and physical therapy services, has announced a change in their network status with Medicare Advantage Plans for Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Florida.
“We highly value our relationships with referring partners as we collectively strive to ensure our mutual patients receive high-quality, affordable care,” said Randy Wiemer, PT, DPT, Vice President of Clinical Operations for Lake Centre for Rehab. “However, despite our unwavering effort over months of negotiations with BCBS Medicare Advantage, we have been unable to secure reimbursement rates that would adequately cover the fundamental, rising operating costs of providing excellent patient care.”
Consequently, effective April 12th, 2024, LCR will no longer participate in Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida’s Medicare Advantage network.
“We are committed to advocating for our patients to have access to the best care possible, regardless of their insurance provider,” said Wiemer. “Our hope is that BCBS Medicare Advantage will reconsider its position and agree to provide us with fair reimbursement. Until then, we will continue to work with our patients to ensure that they have access to the care they need.”
